EIA announce partnership with Tourism WA
WA’s growth with tourist numbers has stagnated since 2015, compared with Victoria (24% increase) and the ACT (23% increase).
With the state government announcing a $425 million injection into the tourism sector over 5 years, the partnership between EIA and Tourism WA has come at a crucial time to showcase the state as a viable destination for international and domestic travellers.
EIA President, Tony Williamson said the Events Industry Association is excited to be working closely with Tourism WA to assist in the continued development of events here in Western Australia.
“We will look to have a greater input within this relationship to help achieve Tourism growth in WA. The EIA commends the State Government, The Tourism Council and Tourism WA for the hard work they continue to do to attract international and national events, which will lead to more tourism dollars being spent here for us all.”
The Events Industry Association WA, formed in 1995, is an influential not-for-profit, member-based organisation representing the state event industry. It is dedicated to fostering high professional standards in the delivery and management of events via promoters, event managers, conference & seminar organisers, venues and suppliers.
Tourism WA is responsible for promoting Western Australia as an extraordinary holiday destination. Its focus is on marketing the State; developing, attracting and promoting major sporting, cultural and business events; and supporting the development of significant tourism infrastructure and projects.
